Laundry Day and Moving On

Laundry Day

It was moving time. Slowly but surely, we were getting all of our stuff ready. It's amazing how much "stuff" you collect over the course of a year. And when it comes time to pack it all up in boxes, bags, cases, and anything else you can find, it's astounding how many items you forgot you owned. Some things you can't even remember buying. Then, of course, you come face to face with things you stashed away, thinking, "I'll decide what to do with this later...". Then later never came.

While packing up clothes, I finally decided that it was high time I got rid of some things that I just don't wear or need. Suddenly, I found myself completely overwhelmed. Not knowing what I should do with most of it. And then I realized that's how I was feeling about much of the things in my life over the past few months. I was sitting around waiting for something, a sign, the big moment, the deal, and things were just piling up. I was drowning in a sea of my own "stuff". And it wasn't just clothes, gadgets, things. It was emotions, unanswered questions, desires, and dreams that I had pushed aside to "decide what to do about it later".

So, cleaning house was the only answer. One foot in front of the other. Slowly digging myself out of this one. That's what inspired this week's image. Hope you enjoy. And all I can say is that it's a good thing I changed detergent. If I'm going to drowning in this sea of stuff, at least it smells SHA-WEET!

Cheers!

No Means No! That's What She Said...

I set out yesterday to do something creative. It was an off day. As a matter of fact, I had two big mishaps. I accidentally deleted some images from my card. I had started a new series on Sunday and had yet to upload them to my drive. Why I formatted my card, I'll never know. That was the first mishap.

I decided I wanted to do something that was comic book-like for this shoot. I was mainly looking to work on some post processing. So, this idea popped up. We set out to knock it out. Everything went smoothly. I came home, uploaded and began to work. Somewhere along the way, I forgot to save and somehow managed to close the PSD without saving...Hmmm...twice in one day.

Fortunately, I didn't lose too much. It was only about an hour of work. I didn't have to start completely over, which was good, but nevertheless, I decided to call it a night. I tackled it this morning and finished without much of a problem. Check it out!

Cheers!
